Purpose

We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Markham, Ontario.

To support the Mechanical Engineering team in support of design and engineering work done for nuclear industries. The candidate will work under the supervision of the discipline lead to support small to medium projects within Mechanical Engineering and work well with the customer and the rest of the project team.

The candidate will be based out of Markham with frequent travel to Kincardine.

Self-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, show effective team leadership and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of technical specifications, data sheets for mechanical equipment and piping.
  • Ability to liaise with the supplier in the purchase of equipment.
  • Review shop drawings and attend inspection as required.
  • Perform technical evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of the equipment.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards, perform calculations.
  • Prepare project scope of work, planning and support RFQs (Requests For Quotation).
  • Work within budget and time constraints.
  • Preparation of Scope of Work Documentation.
  • Follow Worley and client Nuclear quality programs and protocols.
What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience

  • Experience working on nuclear power engineering projects.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge in all the relevant standards (i.e. ASME B31.1, ASME Sec 3, N285, N286, N299, etc.).
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered with PEO as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration.
  • Eligible for nuclear clearance will be required.
  • Available to travel frequently to Kincardine, ON
