Job summary

Qualifications

• 3-year Karmax heavy stamping experience as a Junior Layout Technician or 4 years related field.
• Grade 12 Diploma or GED.
• Able to work in various locations within and outside the plant.
• Exceptional knowledge and certificate in GD&T.
• Understanding of fixture design concepts for part inspection.
• CAD experience (AutoCAD, CATIA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good mathematical, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
• Check fixture calibrations and GR&R studies.
• Perform annual part layouts, PPAPs, PIST and PIPC reports.
• Write, amend and debug CMM programs using CAD and PC-Dmis.
• Conduct inspection reports to investigate internal or customer issues.
• Inspect using standard hand metrology tools.
• Manage Cognitens lab systems administrations.
• Collaborate with Karmax Engineering, customers and suppliers to resolve dimensional concerns.
• Provide layout training as required.
• Operate overhead crane safely; order supplies via KPS.

The Intermediate Technician will also be responsible for hand tool calibrations, Cogentin’s inspections and training of Junior Technicians.
