A leading engineering firm in Canada seeks an Intermediate / Junior Water Resources Engineer to join their Sudbury office. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and experience in water resource projects, engaging in project management, design, and client interactions. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects while guiding junior engineers, contributing to various hydrotechnical assessments, and ensuring clients' objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • 0 to 8 years of experience in engineering including design and project management.
  • Experience in hydrotechnical assessments and hydrology desirable.
  • Good leadership and client management experience.

Job description

  • Position: INTERMEDIATE / JUNIOR WATER RESOURCES ENGINEER

The successful candidate will take an important role in design and project management within MPE’s Water Resources team. The position requires a broad range of skills and experience in a wide variety of water resource projects. The position will be based in MPE’s Sudbury office.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Civil or Environmental Engineering,
  • Registration with PEO as an Engineer (P.Eng., or E.I.T.),
  • 0 to 8 years of experience in engineering including design, management, construction supervision, and project management. Preferably for water resource related projects.
  • Experience completing hydrotechnical assessments and hydrology as well as use of hydraulic modeling software is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, with good leadership, project management and client management experience; and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Management of projects, contract administration, construction management, and design engineering,
  • Coordination, supervision, mentoring, and management of junior engineers and technologists,
  • Prepare planning reports, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents,
  • Perform construction administration and general construction supervision duties,
  • Work closely with our clients to ensure their project objectives are met.
