Job summary

WSP in Prince George, BC is seeking an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team. You will blend field assignments with office analysis on BC and Yukon projects, collaborating with experts and supporting large infrastructure initiatives.

You will lead field programs, interpret data for foundations and slope stability, and mentor junior staff. A P.Eng. eligible credential and five years of experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a P.Eng. with EGBC.
  • Minimum five years of geotechnical or geological engineering experience.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license.
  • Experience interpreting soil/rock conditions, lab data and construction requirements.
  • Familiarity with GeoStudio, Rocscience or similar geotechnical software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in field programs including borehole drilling, test pitting, in situ testing, instrumentation installation, and construction monitoring.
  • Analyze geotechnical data to develop recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, pavements, and slope stability.
  • Prepare clear, defensible technical reports such as investigations, design briefs, and construction documentation.
  • Provide geotechnical input to multidisciplinary teams and support data-driven solutions.
  • Mentor junior staff in field methods, analysis techniques, and safety practices.
  • Build strong client relationships through reliable engineering advice.
  • Support quality assurance, project coordination, and continuous improvement in geotechnical practice.

WSP is seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Ground Engineering and Materials Team in Prince George, BC. Your work will blend field assignments with office‑based analysis and design on a wide range of geotechnical projects throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. You’ll collaborate with technical experts, support major infrastructure initiatives, and contribute directly to our regional and northern project portfolio.

The Skills That Set You Apart

Compensation
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 – $118,900
  • MB & ON: $81,900 – $112,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $81,100 – $107,700
