Intermediate Financial Analyst, Performance Measurement, FP&A

Role Definition:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Measurement, the Intermediate Financial Analyst will support financial planning and analysis for our Personal and Commercial insurance lines of business. This financial reporting focused role offers a comprehensive view of the company’s financial performance, opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally, and involvement in the Finance integration efforts for our recent acquisition of the Canadian operations of Travelers. This role is also eligible for admission to Definity’ s pre-approved CPA program, providing CPA candidates with practical experience and financial support as they work toward their designation.

What can you expect in this role?

  • Provide financial planning and analysis support for the Personal and Commercial lines of business, including assisting with monthly reporting and financial close processes.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and complete financial and non-financial information, analysis, and reporting for internal (e.g. executives, board, business units) and external (e.g. regulators, auditors) stakeholders.
  • Leverage our recent technology investments in the Oracle EPM Cloud suite to enhance reporting and analysis capabilities.

What do you bring to the role?

  • A university degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • A CPA designation or active enrolment in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of VBA is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in management reporting and analysis considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with insurance industry accounting is considered an asset
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion planning and Oracle Essbase reporting tools is considered an asset.

High degree of proficiency with English and French required to service customers, both internal to the company and external, across Canada.

Salary Range: $58,100 - $106,900
