Qualifications

  • University Degree or Technical Diploma from an accredited institution, plus appropriate continuing education.
  • 3-7 years of practical experience, including field work.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Relevant experience in Alberta and familiarity with Alberta regulations is an asset.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work challenging and potentially extended hours under varying weather conditions.
  • Working toward professional registration or certification, or recently certified.

Intermediate Environmental Technologist

Edmonton, Alberta

The Liability Management & Restoration (LM&R) service line is seeking an Intermediate Environmental Technologist based in Edmonton, Alberta. You will support the growth and success of the LM&R service line by assisting Project Managers in project execution, including environmental monitoring, water and soil sampling of remediation and decommissioning sites.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Perform various fieldwork tasks, including surface water/groundwater monitoring and sampling, soil sampling, drilling, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation.
  • Lead field programs and project execution, performing tasks efficiently and accurately using standard methods.
  • Prepare work plans and cost estimates.
  • Lead environmental investigations, including drilling, test pitting, logging, sampling, and monitoring well installations.
  • Manage remediation programs, including planning, subcontractor management, and execution.
  • Lead groundwater and surface water monitoring efforts.
  • Supervise on-site safety and maintain related documentation.
  • Track and report on field activities.
  • Coordinate procurement of project supplies and contractor services.
  • Supervise contractors on site.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.
