INTERMEDIATE ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST, ENGINEER, OR TECHNOLOGIST – Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB regions

As an Intermediate Environmental Scientist/Technologist you will join our Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB team as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team.
The successful applicant will be 100% office-based and involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
Active participation in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture
Act as a leader in the workplace using Montrose Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
Manage simple to moderately complex project scopes, schedules and budgets
Coordinate with internal project teams across disciplines to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients’ unique project needs
Communicate with clients and project related stakeholders on technical and project management scopes
Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates
Prepare technical reports with a primary focus on liability assessments
Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team
Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities to support your career growth
Mentor and develop junior staff members
What We Are Looking For
A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering
A minimum of four (4) years’ previous environmental or project management experience
Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization
Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Experience with estimating costs and leading site assessment and remediation programs in the Oil & Gas industry
Experience writing technical reports including site-specific liability assessments
Knowledge of the Alberta liability regulatory framework including previous experience with Directives 001 and 011 would be considered an asset
Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
Experience with Workday software would be an asset
A valid and clean driver’s license with no restrictions.

This is a permanent position with an hourly rate range of $31.73 - $42.82, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
