Job description

By joining our team as an intermediate engineer, you’ll serve as a technical leader for engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation, and control. You’ll also take on a leadership role on the team in various phases of engineering and site work. You’ll help prepare proposals, select technologies, and propose solutions to clients. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to actively participate in business development.

• Prepare material lists and bills of materials according to codes, standards, drawings, and other established procedures in accordance with BBA’s quality system requirements
• Revise analyses and deliverables produced by junior engineers, technicians, and drafters
• Perform technical surveys
• Plan, organize, and determine client needs for new facilities or expansion projects
• Provide technical assistance at project start-up and after delivery
• Participate in site testing
• Take on the responsibilities of a project manager, including ensuring all assigned deliverables meet quality requirements, and are on time and within budget
• Maintain synergy with the project team
• Interact with clients and participate in business development
• Establish and maintain contact with clients
• Define client needs and identify new opportunities during projects
• Serve as leader when preparing technical and commercial proposals

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant training
• From 7 to 12 years of relevant experience
• Member of a Canadian professional engineering association
• Practical experience in instrumentation and control design (design criteria, network architecture, instrument selection, etc.)
• Relevant experience in developing and programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
• Site experience with a focus on occupational safety
• Experience with system troubleshooting, commissioning, and implementation
• Interest or relevant experience in automation and instrumentation
• Available to travel to and from our BBA offices in the Greater Montréal area
• Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client locations or sites
• Bilingual (English and French) with strong skills in drafting reports
