By joining our team as an intermediate engineer, you’ll serve as a technical leader for engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation, and control. You’ll also take on a leadership role on the team in various phases of engineering and site work. You’ll help prepare proposals, select technologies, and propose solutions to clients. - Prepare material lists and bills of materials according to codes, standards, drawings, and other established procedures in accordance with BBA’s quality system requirements
- Revise analyses and deliverables produced by junior engineers, technicians, and drafters
- Perform technical surveys
- Plan, organize, and determine client needs for new facilities or expansion projects
- Provide technical assistance at project start-up and after delivery
- Participate in site testing
- Take on the responsibilities of a project manager, including ensuring all assigned deliverables meet quality requirements, and are on time and within budget
- Maintain synergy with the project team
- Interact with clients and participate in business development
- Establish and maintain contact with clients
- Define client needs and identify new opportunities during projects
- Serve as leader when preparing technical and commercial proposals

Overview of certifications and job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in automated production engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant training
- From 7 to 12 years of relevant experience
- Member of a Canadian professional engineering association
- Practical experience in instrumentation and control design (design criteria, network architecture, instrument selection, etc.)
- Relevant experience in developing and programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
- Site experience with a focus on occupational safety
- Experience with system troubleshooting, commissioning, and implementation
- Interest or relevant experience in automation and instrumentation
- Available to travel to and from our BBA offices in the Greater Montréal area
- Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client locations or sites
- Bilingual (English and French) with strong skills in drafting reports
