Fleetway Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Technologist to join its engineering team in Dartmouth, NS or Ottawa, ON. The role involves developing technical studies and working on integration projects in support of the Royal Canadian Navy under Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy. Ideal candidates will have an Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma and relevant experience in naval ship design, along with proficiency in industry-standard software.

Qualifications

  • Diploma from a post-secondary institution.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in 2D drafting and engineering design.
  • Experience in Naval Warship design is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical studies, drawings, and specifications for vessels.
  • Conduct power and communication systems analyses.
  • Perform Voltage Drop and Short circuit current calculations.

Join Fleetway Inc.'s engineering team and contribute to Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy and the Halifax Class Design Agent contracts. Our engineers and technologists provide comprehensive technical data management and engineering support services to the Royal Canadian Navy, producing complex designs to support new structures and systems that ensure the Navy is 'ready to help, ready to lead, and ready to fight'.

Responsibilities
  • Develop technical studies, drawings, and specifications for government and commercial vessels
  • Report writing and equipment selection
  • Incorporate Engineering Changes into existing designs
  • Work on systems integration projects
  • Conduct power and communication systems analyses
  • Perform Voltage Drop and Short circuit current calculations
Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma from a Post-Secondary Institution
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design/integration projects
  • Proficiency in Microstation and/or AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience in Naval Warship design is an asset
