We are looking for a Intermediate Electrical Distribution Engineer to provide technical expertise in electrical distribution infrastructure (poles, wires, vaults, duct banks, cables), ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. This position can be based in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, or Saskatoon.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations of the distribution team, from responding to service requests to project delivery.
  • Develop design work packages, including scope, schedule, and effort estimates.
  • Assist with resolving design and field engineering issues through independent studies and analysis, recommending safe engineering solutions.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by communicating with stakeholders, defining scope, establishing design criteria, and reporting on work progress.
  • Provide specialized expertise in Distribution, setting high standards and influencing team performance.
  • Innovate by proposing modifications to improve work processes, guidelines, and standards.
  • Design overhead and underground facilities up to 35kV, such as line rebuilds, structure replacements, and duct banks.
  • Attend site visits for data collection, design confirmation, troubleshooting, construction support, and quality assurance.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of engineering experience with specific knowledge in Distribution, ideally within British Columbia.
  • P.Eng designation or eligibility to obtain it in Canada.
  • Experience working with utilities in Western Canada.
  • Expertise in overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems at voltages up to 35kV.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical options and present solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with GIS, CAD, and drawing standards.
  • Proficiency in industry design/analysis software like SPIDAcalc and PLSCAD.
  • Ability to collaborate with remote teams and maintain effective relationships with clients and staff.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Western Canada.

The salary will be based on experience, training, skills, and internal equity. Compensation may vary depending on the candidate's profile.
