Job description

Intermediate DevOps Engineers at Coconut Software contribute to infrastructure and reliability initiatives by working closely with senior team members and cross-functional partners. In joining our growing team, the Intermediate DevOps Engineer will be an integral part of site reliability at Coconut. They will support efforts to improve infrastructure, reliability, and CI/CD practices while gaining experience in cloud and automation tools. Security is at the heart of our culture, and the Intermediate DevOps Engineer will document and practice the highest security standards.   • Please note: You must be willing to participate in a shared on-call rotation to support production systems and respond to incidents.
YOU’RE FIRED UP TO
  • Work within a team of like-minded professionals to plan, deploy, and maintain critical business applications
  • Learn from and collaborate with senior engineers while contributing to shared team goals
  • Assist in maintaining our Kubernetes cluster and contribute to improvements under guidance
  • Support reliability projects by owning scoped tasks and collaborating with senior engineers
  • Support implementation of continuous deployment through cloud solutions
  • Understand how IT operations are managed, identify recurring issues, and work with IT & Business partners to remediate using the problem management process
  • Utilize various open source technologies
  • Use orchestration tools to support scalable, reliable infrastructure
  • Write basic scripts and automation in Bash, Python, or similar languages
  • Assist in configuring and managing databases like MySQL
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and monitoring solutions under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Use Git and other tools for source control and collaboration
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to think critically and collaborate effectively
  • Solid understanding of DevOps fundamentals and eagerness to grow expertise
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure roles
  • Experience working with cloud networking and DevOps tools in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience deploying services to AWS or another cloud platform
  • Basic proficiency in Terraform
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts
  • Experience using monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) to detect issues, analyze system health, and contribute to incident response
  • Comfortable with JIRA or similar tools for task management and sprint planning
  • Foundational knowledge of Linux/Unix administration with a desire to grow deeper expertise
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services to improve the continuous deployment process
  • A good understanding of code and scripting (PHP, Python, Shell)
  • Familiarity with networking basics such as DNS, IP addressing, and ACLs
  • Experience with MySQL and Redis management
  • General banking knowledge or knowledge related to Wealth Management / Private banking would be an asset
