Job summary

DMC Mining Services in Thunder Bay, Ontario is seeking an Intermediate Designer, Process Controls to join our team on a permanent basis. You will design and draft control, automation, and instrumentation systems with collaboration across engineers and designers.

Responsibilities include integrating communications into PLC networks (Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet IP, Devicenet), developing electrical drawings, and maintaining drawings using AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy industrial settings.
• Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Codes and standards (OESC, NEC, CSA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
• Proficient in drafting drawings and learning new techniques.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Team player able to coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit is highly desirable.
• Electrical design experience in underground mining is a strong asset.

Summary

DMC is currently looking for a Intermediate Designer, Process Controls to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The Intermediate Designer, Process Controls will collaborate with other designers and engineers and will be responsible for designing and drafting various control, automation, and instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the team by actively participating in design and drafting control, automation, and instrumentation systems.
• Integrates communications into the PLC such as Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet IP and Devicenet
• Develops electrical, instrumentation and control drawings.
• Creates and maintains drawings using AutoCAD.
• Maintains electrical data, documentation, and drawings.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• College Diploma or University Degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy industrial settings.
• Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Codes, electrical engineering principles and practices, industry and regulatory codes and standards (OESC, NEC, CSA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
• Proficient in developing and drafting drawings with a keen interest in learning new techniques.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong team player with ability to coordinate and work with other engineering disciplines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit is highly desirable.
• Electrical design experience in underground mining is a strong asset.

Additional Information

• We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
• Salary Range is expected to be between: $82,950.00 to $109,700.00
• Comprehensive benefits and retirement plan.
• This role can be performed hybrid from site and remotely
