We are looking to add an Intermediate Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team in Vancouver, B.C. Reporting to the Manager, Data Engineering, the Intermediate Data Engineer will be responsible for datapipeline development, data integrations and enhancing CI/CD pipelines. An ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys developing innovative solutions.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops data pipelines for automated extraction, transformation and loading into data infrastructure.
  • Enhances CI/CD pipelines to improve developer efficiency.
  • Troubleshoots issues with shared tools such as SQL Developer or Python code environments.
  • Maintains documentation of DE tools and infrastructure for use by other teams.
  • Implements data validation and testing strategies.
  • Debugs existing issues with features, including code errors and performance bottlenecks.
  • Works with various forms of data infrastructure including relational databases, object storage, and data warehouses.
  • Develops new data models, ETL procedures, jobs, and front-end designs for medium and large features with moderate complexity.
  • Gathers requirements from management and stakeholders into detailed plans, designs, and documents.
  • Incorporates data governance practices in their tasks.
  • Additional duties as occasionally required by your manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Computer Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • 2-4 years experience in a software development role.
  • Strong experience working with Python.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English, knowledge of Spanish is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Experience working in Microsoft 365.
  • Health & Safety conscious individual.
  • Legally able to work in Canada.

$83,000 - $98,000 a year

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.
