Your Opportunity

The role of an Intermediate Civil Engineer involves working independently and as part of a team on small to medium-sized projects, and supporting large, complex projects. You may serve as a project engineer, discipline lead, technical lead, or project manager, guiding projects to successful outcomes. You will work with diverse personnel, mentor junior staff, and support project delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee small to medium-sized projects, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
2. Provide technical leadership and serve as Engineer-of-Record for civil projects.
3. Perform engineering design tasks, including drawings, reports, and presentations.
4. Support client account management, marketing, and business development efforts in British Columbia.
5. Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
6. Manage and lead team members, delegate tasks, and ensure project completion.
7. Prepare tender and contract documents, and participate in constructability reviews and site inspections.
8. Conduct quality assurance and control on projects.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong understanding of civil engineering design concepts, including systems, survey, stormwater, erosion, and grading.
• Effective project management skills for multiple projects.
• Ability to understand client expectations, budgets, proposals, and deliver high-quality work.
• Leadership skills to support and mentor junior staff.
• Knowledge of civil systems, standards, and industry practices; familiarity with Metro Vancouver standards is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of software like AutoCAD, Civil3D, and others is beneficial.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with 5-10 years of experience.
