Your Opportunity
The role of an Intermediate Civil Engineer involves working independently and as part of a team on small to medium-sized projects, and supporting large, complex projects. You may serve as a project engineer, discipline lead, technical lead, or project manager, guiding projects to successful outcomes. You will work with diverse personnel, mentor junior staff, and support project delivery.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Oversee small to medium-sized projects, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Provide technical leadership and serve as Engineer-of-Record for civil projects.
- Perform engineering design tasks, including drawings, reports, and presentations.
- Support client account management, marketing, and business development efforts in British Columbia.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Manage and lead team members, delegate tasks, and ensure project completion.
- Prepare tender and contract documents, and participate in constructability reviews and site inspections.
- Conduct quality assurance and control on projects.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong understanding of civil engineering design concepts, including systems, survey, stormwater, erosion, and grading.
- Effective project management skills for multiple projects.
- Ability to understand client expectations, budgets, proposals, and deliver high-quality work.
- Leadership skills to support and mentor junior staff.
- Knowledge of civil systems, standards, and industry practices; familiarity with Metro Vancouver standards is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of software like AutoCAD, Civil3D, and others is beneficial.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Licensed Professional Engineer with 5-10 years of experience.
