Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience in professional services.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and third-party apps.
  • Ability to balance a portfolio of clients independently.

Responsibilities

  • Full cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation of client payroll using third-party payroll providers.
  • Regulatory filing preparation for T4, T5, and tax forms.

Job description

Job Title: Intermediate Bookkeeper

Location: Hamilton office

Your opportunity

The Intermediate Bookkeeper will provide a range of outsourced bookkeeping services. This role will assist with full cycle bookkeeping, payroll, government filings and general advisory services.

Your major responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping to trial balance, including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, cheque runs, assist with period end closing and financial reporting
  • Preparation of client payroll using third party payroll providers (Payworks, Dayforce/Ceridian, ADP as well as internal QBDT, PDOC)
  • Preparation of schedules for regulatory filing (T4, T4A, T5)
  • Preparation of tax regulatory filing (PD7A, HST, EHT & WSIB)
  • Preparation of year-end working paper package for accounting
  • Drafting correspondence related to client engagements

What we look for

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience working in professional services
  • Current certifications for QBO and Xero
  • Experience in cloud based systems including third party apps – Hubdoc, Plooto, Receipt Bank etc. would be an asset
  • Completed or working towards the CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation is an asset
  • Ability to balance a portfolio of bookkeeping clients in a time sensitive manner
  • Work independently and be accountable for a portfolio of clients ensuring client confidentiality
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills for regular deadlines
  • Thrives in a team environment
