Intermediate BI Analyst with a background in procurement or supply chain to work with large government data sets to build PowerBI, PowerView, and SQL Reporting and Analytical Services (657)

Our client is seeking an Intermediate BI Analyst with a background in procurement or supply chain to work with large government data sets to build PowerBI, PowerView, and SQL Reporting and Analytical Services.

This is an onsite role which requires onsite work from 8:15-4:30 in Edmonton

Must Haves:

  • 4+ years as a BI Analyst with experience in:
  • Articulating and translating technical language for non-technical customers, both verbally and in writing.
  • Presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports that are easy to understand.
  • Designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations, and executive reporting.
  • Planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from co-design workshops with service users.
  • Post-Secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science or a related field.

Additional experience required includes:

  • 2+ years in public sector procurement processes
  • 4+ years with PowerBI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services
  • 2+ years working with large government datasets
  • Relevant post-secondary education in supply chain, procurement, business, or related fields (degrees, diplomas, or certificates, minimum 2-year diploma).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a team delivering business intelligence capabilities to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver work products based on various data sets, including education, finance, census, etc.
  • Work with technology products like SAP and Power BI to meet evolving information needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with in-house staff and contractors.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Gather and document requirements.
  • Design and develop information products.
  • Capture metadata for information products.
  • Manage control processes, schedules, and reporting.
  • Ensure quality standards and timely delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance on BI deliverables.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data inquiries.
  • Perform data analysis, quality audits, statistical analysis, and data mining.
  • Escalate issues and risks appropriately.
  • Work within a multi-vendor/staff environment.
