Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking an intermediate AWS Developer to join the Wealth Management Technology team. You will design, develop, and support cloud-native applications on AWS using Node.js and TypeScript within an Agile delivery environment.

Key work includes building RESTful APIs, microservices, serverless solutions, and event-driven architectures with Lambda, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and Step Functions.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 years of software development experience, including hands-on AWS cloud development.
  • Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and REST API development.
  • Proven experience building microservices, serverless applications, and event-driven solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, RDS, S3, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, CloudWatch.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks such as Jest.
  • Understanding of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and secure software development practices.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native apps using Node.js, TS, and AWS.
  • Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and serverless solutions.
  • Develop event-driven apps with Lambda, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and Step Functions.
  • Design relational DBs with Amazon RDS and SQL.
  • Create secure integrations with internal and external systems.
  • Implement IaC with AWS CDK and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support deployments, issue resolution, and platform enhancements.
  • Collaborate with architects, front-end developers, QA teams, product owners and stakeholders.
