Job summary

MPE a division of Englobe in Lethbridge seeks an Intermediate Automation Professional to design control systems, lead PLC and SCADA programming, manage projects, and commission equipment for clients across Southern Alberta and Western Canada.

The successful candidate will work with our Automation and Controls team in the Lethbridge office, travel for maintenance and commissioning tasks, and provide emergency support when needed.

Qualifications

• Programming experience with a variety of automation software and hardware.
• Willingness to travel to support maintenance and commissioning tasks.
• Availability to provide emergency support for PLCs, SCADA systems, and related communications systems.
• Diploma or degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Licensed, or eligible for licensing or certification, with APEGA or ASET.

Description

As an Intermediate Automation Professional, the successful applicant will share MPE’s vision of providing industry-leading services to our clients throughout Southern Alberta and Western Canada. This position is primarily focused on control system design, project management, PLC and SCADA programming, and commissioning. The successful applicant will work with our Automation and Controls team in the Lethbridge office.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Programming experience with a variety of automation software and hardware.
• Willingness to travel to support maintenance and commissioning tasks.
• Availability to provide emergency support for PLCs, SCADA systems, and related communications systems.
• Diploma or degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Licensed, or eligible for licensing or certification, with APEGA or ASET.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

• Experience providing project management services.
• Experience configuring network equipment, including routers, firewalls, and Layer 3 switches.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle for out-of-town work, as required.
• Five or more years of experience related to the mandatory and preferred qualifications listed above.
