Job description

ZO1 Architects is a progressive architectural firm specializing in small to large-scale, high-density, and multi-phase developments from concept design to construction completion. We are a group of passionate architects and interior designers with extensive experience in the Greater Toronto Area.

Our portfolio is diverse, including projects ranging from low to high-rise, large-scale mixed-use developments, residential, senior living, long-term care, retail, commercial, luxury hotels, and office spaces. Most projects involve collaboration with established developers or non-profit organizations in the GTA.

Qualifications:
  1. MP or similar qualification.
  2. Experience with planning approval to building permit and tender phases in Ontario/GTA.
  3. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  4. Experience in high-density residential, hotel, commercial, low-rise wood frame, or senior living projects.
  5. Advanced proficiency in Revit software.
  6. Ability to produce accurate construction documentation for medium to large residential and commercial projects.
  7. Knowledge in preparing drawings for zoning, site plan approval, building permits, tender, and construction.
  8. Understanding of OBC Part 3 and Part 9.
  9. Experience in construction administration, including shop drawing review and site instructions.
  10. Familiarity with wall/ceiling types, building science, envelope design, and materials.
  11. Ability to develop plan/section details, door schedules, room schedules, and other schedules for permits and tenders.
  12. Experience in coordinating with consultants to complete zoning, SPA, building permit, tender, and construction drawings.
  13. Ability to interpret client briefs, municipal bylaws, and urban design guidelines.
  14. Proficient in building materials and construction techniques.
  15. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with team members, clients, consultants, and city officials.
  16. Effective task prioritization and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  17. Ability to follow instructions and work directly with Principal architects.
  18. Positive, proactive attitude and self-motivation.
  19. Detail-oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  20. Legal authorization to work in Canada and current residence in Canada.

Offered compensation will be based on individual qualifications, with an expected range of $60,000.00 - $85,000.00.
