Responsibilities
What your day will look like
Project Management & Design
- Manage air quality projects for facilities (including oil and gas, aggregate extraction and processing, power generation, industrial / manufacturing, and municipal), transportation projects, Land Use Compatibility assessments, etc.
- Provide technical support to junior staff on project work including monitoring, modelling, development of abatement strategies, and regulatory liaison.
- Provide technical oversight and reviews of regulatory projects including ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.
Business Development
- Coordinate and implement business development activities related to air quality services, including opportunity identification, proposal development, and client liaison.
- Support and pursue air quality opportunities with client managers and business unit leads within Dillon’s framework.
- Business travel upon request.
Learning & Development
- Commit to ongoing self-development and professional growth.
- Mentor junior staff through technical guidance, training, and coaching.
- Participate actively in professional associations to enhance Dillon’s profile.
Qualifications
- Degree in environmental, chemical, or related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineers Ontario designation.
- 5+ years experience in environmental consulting or air quality.
- Established relationships with local regulators (MECP) through project delivery.
Experience
- Must-have experience in air quality work: emission inventories, estimates, dispersion modelling (AERMOD, CALPUFF, CALRoads), regulatory reporting.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal air quality laws and regulations.
- Experience preparing emission summaries and dispersion modelling reports supporting ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.
- Familiarity with NPRI and GHG reporting programs.
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently in a consulting environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- GHG quantification and reporting skills are assets.
- Familiarity with MECP’s D-series Guidelines and land use assessments is an asset.
