Job summary

Haywood Securities in Vancouver is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Controller, you will handle general ledger reconciliations, revenue allocations, and assist with bank transfers, audits and financial statements.

The role requires at least 2 years of accounting experience, with CPA designation or active enrollment preferred. Brokerage experience is considered an asset, and Broadridge/Multiview knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience.
• Preference for CPA designation or actively enrolled in the CPA program.
• Experience in the brokerage industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly general ledger account reconciliations and amortization schedules.
• Processing revenue and expense allocations and journal entries.
• Assisting with the processing of bank transfers.
• Analyzing and reconciling commission-related data.
• Assisting with financial statement preparation for regulatory purposes and external audits.
• Preparing audit working papers for year-end
• Carrying out ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
