Job summary

A recruitment service is seeking an experienced accountant for an hourly role in Toronto. Responsibilities include managing invoices, accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Qualifications

About the Opportunity
  • Ensure all invoices, expenses reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations have the proper allocation, approval and supporting documentation.
  • Process and send out weekly payments with approvals and signatures.
  • Maintain accounts payable records, vendor records and invoices for audit purposes.
  • Calculate and track GST/HST/QST/PST, including preparing and submitting quarterly/annual returns and rebates.
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts, reconciliation and schedules.
  • Ensure deposits and expenses are recorded accurately in the GL.
  • Record journal entries as needed, including entries at month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and for the annual audit.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
  • Oversee the distribution of monthly reports to all business/program areas across the organization, ensuring accuracy of data and financial statements.
  • Support the preparation of regular forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis as part of reporting package.
  • Provide support and answer queries from other department staff.
  • Provide additional assistance to the Chief Financial Officer; Director, Finance; and Manager, Finance as requested.
About You:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • 3 years accounting working experience in AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge in Sage 300 or comparable accounting software.
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to work in ambiguity, independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Work well in team environment; ability to communicate and collaborate across teams

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay Range:

$25 to $30 an hour.
