About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Intermediate Accountant for a 2-year full-time contract (maternity leave coverage), starting June 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting month-end close procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles and a proactive approach to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This is a key role within the finance team, contributing to the integrity of financial reporting and day-to-day accounting functions.

What You’ll Do :

  • Process and reconcile advertising accounts receivable (AR)
  • Handle credit card payment processing and post AR payments
  • Distribute invoices and client statements and manage advertising payment plans
  • Maintain and update bad debt and credit note schedules regularly
  • Manage amortization schedules and record related journal entries in accounting software
  • Assist with programming payments and vendor setup in banking system
  • Support year-end audit requests by providing documentation and analysis
  • Oversee new client onboarding, including credit checks and data entry
  • Prepare and distribute weekly sales and pacing reports
  • Complete monthly reconciliations
  • Post affiliate reports and update related analysis files
  • Review aged AR balances and support collection activities. Conduct follow-ups on overdue accounts with clients and internal sales teams
  • Participate in other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Who You Are :

  • Post secondary education diploma or degree in Accounting / Finance, and working towards CPA preferred
  • 2+ years experience as an accountant or related role
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Operates with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Solutions oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong initiative and self motivated with ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, with expertise in Excel and knowledge of Quickbooks
  • Knowledge of WideOrbit and NewViews is an asset
  • Self-motivated to learn, work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience in broadcast media and multilingual abilities would be a distinct advantage
