Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen as an Intermediate Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be responsible for end-to-end accounts payable management, credit card administration, and key month-end close activities, as well as supporting day-to-day financial operations.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, adherence to company policies, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices accurately and timely, ensuring correct coding, approvals, and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor payment runs, due dates, and address vendor inquiries promptly.
  • Perform monthly AP reconciliations and prepare aging reports.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and support audit requests.

Corporate Credit Card & Expense Administration

  • Administer corporate credit card program, including reconciliations and compliance monitoring.
  • Review and approve employee expense reports to ensure adherence to policy.

Month-End Close & General Accounting

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Assist in variance analysis and month-end schedules.
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with operations for expense allocation and reporting.

Banking & Daily Transactions

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash transactions.
  • Assist with payment processing, cash applications, and transaction postings.
  • Support process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Provide financial data and analysis for operational decisions.
  • Recommend best practices in AP, credit card, and month-end processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, especially in AP and month-end close.
  • Understanding of accounting principles (experience with IFRS/ASPE is a plus).
  • Proficiency with ERPs (SAP, Oracle, D365) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with corporate credit card programs and expense platforms (Concur, Expensify).
  • Familiarity with multi-entity or multinational processes.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Experience in fast-paced or high-growth environments.
