We are currently looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Trading, Financial Reporting, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for the following key responsibilities:

As an Intermediate Accountant you will:

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and general ledger monitoring, including full working paper/audit file preparation, detailed account reconciliations and analysis;
  • Action settlement activities, including reconciliation of invoice information with counterparties, invoice payment, monitoring bank account activity, and processing invoice and settlement activity;
  • Work closely with other departments within EE to resolve any settlement discrepancies;
  • Prepare government and other regulatory reports related to EE's business;
  • Provide a high level of customer service, mainly via telephone and email;
  • Prepare other routine and ad hoc analysis and reports.

What skills will make you successful?

  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Commerce, combined with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related role and have completed, or be actively working toward a professional accounting designation (CPA). A related combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-focused environment;
  • Have solid business acumen, customer focused and comfortable working with confidential information;
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and Excel.
