Position Summary
Bevo Farms Ltd. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Intermediate Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for a developing professional with strong full-cycle accounting capabilities who is ready to take the next step beyond junior responsibilities and contribute to complex financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal control processes.
The Intermediate Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Controller and Senior Accountants to support the monthly close cycle, contribute to intercompany reconciliations, assist with audits, and drive process improvements across the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting Operations
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger balances.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and support multi-entity reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of working papers for internal and external audits.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Support the preparation of internal reports, including KPI dashboards and variance analysis.
- Assist with tax compliance (GST/PST/HST), government remittances, and working papers.
- Help document internal control processes and support process improvements.
- Ensure financial records are accurate and comply with applicable accounting standards.
Systems and Projects
- Work within Microsoft Dynamics NAV (or similar ERP) to manage financial data accurately.
- Identify and help implement efficiency improvements in accounting workflows.
- Support special projects, including budget preparation and system integrations.
Qualifications
Mandatory:
- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and full-cycle accounting processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred).
- High attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Preferred
- Progress toward CPA designation (or desire to pursue it).
- Experience with intercompany transactions and multi-entity reporting.
- Exposure to internal controls, audit preparation, and IFRS.
