Job description

We’re seeking an experiencedIntermediate Accountantfor a contract opportunity inChilliwack, BCto support a growing construction organization. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely financial operations while contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

This is a fully on site role starting ASAP for 6-12 weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Managingfull-cycle accountingfunctions including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and GST filings
  • Runningend-to-end payrollfor a mixed workforce (hourly and salaried employees)
  • Handling payroll complexities such as OT, LOA, travel time, and job-specific allowances
  • Supportingproject cost accountingby coding expenses accurately to jobs and tracking costs
  • Ensuring financial accuracy throughself-reviewand troubleshooting with minimal supervision
  • Overseeing a small team of AP staff and assisting with thetransition of dutiesfrom the outgoing Controller
  • Contributing to ongoing systems transition fromSage 100 ContractortoAcumatica

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently in a lean, on-site environment
