Intermediate Accountant

McKeil Marine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of financial reporting, analysis, and general accounting tasks. This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for growth and professional development within a dynamic and fast-paced marine transportation company.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• All responsibilities of a Junior Accountant.
• Assist with preparation of financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Preparation of customer invoicing.
• Assist with daily treasury and cash flow forecasting.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management.
• Assist with preparation of HST/QST and other compliance, tax and corporate filings.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Key Competencies Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., MSDynamics Business Central).
• Familiarity working with MS Power Platform suite of products in addition to generative AI products beyond CoPilot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The ability to work remotely at home as outlined by current Hybrid WFH protocols and policies.
