Our client is a finance and technology organization with multiple offices across Canada. With an entrepreneurial spirit, they plan to expand their team again this year. Their mission is to help individuals access health and wellness solutions. Currently, they’re looking to add an experienced Accountant to their team, the ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Controller, the accountant will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Manage AP inbox and vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and payments.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts, prepare weekly AP listings, and support employee and CEO expense reimbursements.
  • Review credit card transactions and handle borrower inquiries and payments.
  • Provide backup support to Collections Specialist and manage higher-risk accounts, support negotiations with trustees and third-party agencies.
  • Assist with month-end close, including accruals, reconciliations, prepaids, CAPEX, intercompany as well as help prepare consolidated financial statements.
  • Oversee creditor insurance program including EFT filings, QBO invoicing, payment posting, remittances, collections, and claims.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll, onboard/offboard employees, prepare ROEs, and support benefits administration for 55 employees.
  • Assist with payroll/HR system migration.
  • Provide coverage across AP, AR, collections, and funding support as needed.
