Job summary

JD Aero Technical Inc. is seeking an Interior Technician at Sault Ste. Marie Airport to support maintenance on Dash 8 Q400, Dash 8 100/300 and CRJ fleets.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to work rotating shifts including afternoons and weekends. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will remove, clean, repair and install interior components, document work, and follow manuals and Airworthiness Directives.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education required.
  • Strong ability to read and follow aircraft manuals in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
  • Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.
  • Clean criminal background and ability to obtain police record check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out cleaning tasks of aircraft interiors.
  • Remove and install interior components.
  • Request parts using the manufacturers manuals.
  • Ensure all documentation of work performed is clear, accurate, up to date and signed daily.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company SMS and report hazards or incidents as required.
  • Maintain a clean work area with FOD vigilance.

Job Description

Job Purpose:

Our growth requires additional support to satisfy the demand of our projects. We are seeking dedicated individuals who will take on this position with enthusiasm and assist us with our heavy maintenance lines. We primarily service the Dash 8 Q400, Dash 8 100/300 and CRJ100/200/700/900 and ERJ 170/175 aircraft. We expect applicants to be ready to work in a fast-paced work environment.

Our role requires individuals to have excellent communication skills with a team player attitude! Team members agree to work rotating shifts to satisfy demand, including afternoons and weekends.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Aircraft Interior Technician is responsible for the removal, cleaning, repair, modification and installation of interior components in compliance with company policies and Procedures, Customer Management Programs, the Manufacturer’s Manuals and Airworthiness Directives. Aircraft maintenance is a challenging and exciting career – fast, intense and dead-line driven and very high tech.

Responsibilities And Competencies
  • Carry out cleaning tasks of aircraft interiors.
  • Remove and install interior components.
  • Request parts and materials using the manufacturers manuals.
  • Ensure all documentation of work performed is clear, accurate, up to date and signed for on a daily basis.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in company SMS and report all hazards or incidents in accordance with company reporting procedures.
  • Ensure a clean work area exercise FOD vigilance.

Working Hours

Working hours are mainly 7:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and overtime scheduled when required. Extra hours may be required to complete project deadlines and support operating at critical times.

Required Skills
  • Post secondary education.
  • Good understanding of the English language with the ability to read, understand and follow instructions contained within Aircraft Manuals and Publications as it relates to Aircraft Maintenance.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience.
  • Ability to lift approximately 20 lbs.
  • Must have a clean criminal background and provide a valid police criminal record check.
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.
