Bartech Staffing, a leading engineering, technical, and professional staffing firm, is seeking an Interior Lighting Product Design Engineer for our client. This role offers an opportunity to work with a prominent company in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and release interior lighting components such as smart ambient lighting, surface back lighting, dynamic lighting, overhead lighting, Battery charge Indicator lighting, UVC lighting, courtesy, and task lighting.
2. Develop standardization plans, interface with product design, vehicle development, and engineering teams, and coordinate with suppliers.
3. Collaborate with Design Studio and suppliers to create functional lighting solutions that meet design requirements.
4. Maintain lighting design practices, implement innovation roadmaps, utilize SPEOS lighting simulation, and develop new technologies and procedures.
5. Define interface requirements, perform virtual and physical validations, and manage supplier development and management activities.
6. Address build issues during pre-production and vehicle development, and analyze warranty components post-launch.

Basic Qualifications

• Located in Windsor or willing to commute for occasional meetings and training.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least 2 years of experience in product design and release within automotive systems.
• Experience with electrical hardware development, lighting simulation, and tooling feasibility in plastics.
• Proficiency in Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), PFMEA, DVP&R, CAE, GD&T, and i-Speed.
• Experience with Team Center and NX software.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Onsite/Remote hybrid work, with 20% travel required, including driving.
