Working alongside Business Development, Construction, Central Operations, and external partners, the role will adapt global design standards, operational requirements, and clinical needs to create effective store layouts suited to the Canadian market.

A key responsibility will be to build local design expertise, improve project delivery, and retain critical knowledge within the Canadian business. This will help reduce reliance on remote resources, minimise construction and implementation risks, and ensure greater consistency and continuity across store development projects.

The role will also represent the Canadian business in global design discussions, sharing local insights and ensuring Canadian market requirements are reflected in the ongoing development of the company's global store design standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Reduce rework, waste, and unnecessary costs by delivering practical, construction-ready designs.
  • Adapt global store design principles to suit local Canadian requirements.
  • Provide on-the-ground design expertise to Store Development and Construction teams throughout feasibility, design, and construction.
  • Review and approve architectural and design drawings before permit submission to minimise construction risks, delays, and additional costs.
  • Create tailored design solutions where standard store formats are unsuitable.
  • Serve as the lead design specialist for Canada, applying local knowledge and industry best practices.
  • Maintain and improve Canadian design standards and technical documentation to ensure consistent project delivery.
  • Support business growth by reducing reliance on remote design teams and ensuring design knowledge is readily available locally.
  • Lead the end-to-end design of new stores, refits, and relocations across Canada.
  • Develop store layouts that enhance the customer experience, improve operational efficiency, and support clinical services.
  • Ensure designs meet the company's brand standards while accounting for Canadian market conditions, building requirements, and trading environments
  • Work closely with Store Development, Operations, Clinical teams, and external partners to ensure effective collaboration and successful project delivery.
Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage complex design projects across multiple stages, from initial concept through to completion.
  • Strong technical skills in Revit or AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp with Enscape, and 3D rendering software.
  • Experience working collaboratively with architects, shopfitters, and construction professionals.
  • Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of project costs, space optimisation, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Flexibility to travel across Canada and internationally as required.
Package:
  • $110-130k salary depending on relevant experience
  • RRSP matching 5%
