Job summary

Clearspace in Toronto is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to lead corporate interior design projects from concept to completion, collaborating with project managers, estimators, site supervisors, and trades.

The role requires 5–8 years in interior design, a Bachelor’s in Interior Design, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, with strong 3D rendering skills and English communication. You will mentor junior designers and oversee drawings across project phases.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of interior design experience.
  • Bachelor's in Interior Design or related field.
  • Experience with corporate office/workplace design.
  • Proficient in 3D rendering and visualization.
  • Ability to work in project teams and independently.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, or similar software.
  • Excellent English communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Own design elements from kick-off to completion, including budgeting and materials.
  • Create innovative design solutions aligned with client goals.
  • Lead client presentations from programming to design development.
  • Develop and grow client relationships with key accounts.
  • Coordinate junior designers, CAD techs, and consultants to develop working drawings.
  • Coordinate with PMs, estimators and construction teams during design and tender.
  • Provide training and onboarding for new junior designers.

About the Opportunity
We are looking to add a talented Interior Designer to our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for corporate interior design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate client requirements into creative and practical design solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on and contribute to every stage of the design process, from concept to completion. As a designer in a Design & Build company, you will work closely with project managers, estimators, site supervisors, and trades to execute your design intent.

About the Deliverables

  • Own the design elements of a project from kick-off to completion, including concept creation, budgeting, material selection and furniture specification.
  • Create innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling design solutions that align with project goals and client needs.
  • Lead client presentations from programming, layout and concept to design development.
  • Develop and grow client relationships with key accounts.
  • Manage and coordinate junior designers, CAD techs & consultants to develop and maintain working drawings for your projects including RCP, Flooring, Fixtures, Furniture, Finishes, Partition, Power and Communications, Elevations and Millwork details, including reviews of Permit, Tender, and Construction Document sets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators and the construction team during design, tender, and construction.
  • Provide training and onboarding for new junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Requirements

About You

  • 5-8 years of experience in Interior Design.
  • A Bachelor's of Interior Design or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with corporate office and workplace design preferred.
  • Experience in 3D rendering and visualization.
  • Ability to collaborate in project team settings but also work well independently.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to navigate challenges and proactively problem-solve.
  • Able to engage in creative and critical thought to interpret sketches, drawings, program and other similar material.
  • Ability to communicate design ideas and intent (verbal, written, graphic).
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Understanding of client's expectations of deliverables at different phases of projects including construction documents.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, or similar design software.
