INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT COORDINATOR (PART-TIME, HYBRID)

Location : Waterloo, ON

Type : Permanent, part-time (20 to 25 hours per week, with additional hours available as needed)

Pay : $32.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and fit for the role

Start Date : Flexible. Can begin immediately

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a Project Coordinator with proven experience in residential interior design project management. This role is best suited to someone who is organized, proactive, and fluent in the logistics of running design projects from start to finish.

This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Waterloo. It is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, high-calibre environment and is looking for a long-term opportunity that offers balance while keeping their project leadership skills sharp.

You bring solid project management experience from the interior design or construction industry, with a clear understanding of timelines, logistics, and the behind-the-scenes coordination required to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Project Coordination and Management

• Oversee project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
• Serve as the communication bridge between clients, trades, and designers
• Monitor site progress, solve problems, and ensure projects stay on track
• Handle procurement, scheduling, and on-site coordination
• Manage quotes, budgets, and delivery tracking with accuracy

Administration and Documentation

• Coordinate with our bookkeeper for invoicing and expense tracking
• Take meeting notes, assign follow-ups, and support internal clarity

Client Experience

• Provide regular updates and clear communication
• Represent HDG professionally with warmth and poise

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years in project coordination or management in residential interior design, construction, or a related field
• Experience with custom home projects, renovation timelines, workflows, and documentation
• Fluent English speaker with professional verbal and written communication
• Confident working independently, with initiative and good judgment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with AutoCAD is an asset
• Legally eligible to work in Canada (citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit)
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• PMP certification or equivalent experience
• Experience in high-end residential environments
• Awareness of the design and construction process
• Familiarity with Canadian workplace culture, communication, and client expectations is an asset
