A community development organization in Canada is looking for a dedicated part-time Community Development Worker. The Community Development position is salaried, 0.5 FTE, available on a 12-month term from August 18, 2025, to August 31, 2026. The programming includes projects with children and youth in a multi-cultural and multi-faith community, focusing on building up youth, their families, and community through recreation, skill building, and peacebuilding.

Qualifications
All MCC workers are expected to exhibit a commitment to: a personal Christian faith and discipleship; active participation in a Christian church or community; and nonviolent peacemaking. MCC values diversity and invites all qualified candidates to apply.
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in social work, child and youth development, education, or social justice. Demonstrated commitment to community development, Christian service, and cross-cultural engagement. Ability to connect effectively with children, youth, and young adults, fostering leadership and conflict resolution skills. Strong communication, grant writing, and financial management skills. Proficiency in computer tools and a valid driver’s license. Police check required.
Key Responsibilities
Represent MCC principles to the community and partners. Supervise volunteers and staff. Maintain awareness of equity issues and MCC’s policies on community development, experiential learning, and child protection. Engage in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Develop and maintain funding streams and partnerships. Deliver programming that incorporates peacebuilding, trauma awareness, and conflict resolution. Manage grants and communicate program impact. Build relationships with community partners and promote MCC’s work through various communication channels. Participate in MCC’s strategic planning and organizational culture initiatives. Ensure compliance with MCC policies and foster an inclusive, safe environment.
Additional Duties
Participate in staff meetings, devotions, and local faith community activities. Develop an annual budget. Engage in training and resource development. Maintain organizational relationships. Other duties as assigned.
