Job description

This is a hybrid role, 3 days per week in the Toronto office, 2 days per week remote.

As a member of a highly collaborative senior design team, the designer will be working on the web and mobile app experience for a Rewards program, and on a B2B web app that supports the ‘offers’ experience.

They will also work as a collaborative partner with the Marketing team.

The designer will be a hybrid designer who can take the lead on both interaction design and visual design, and will be comfortable within a collaborative interdisciplinary team and agile ways of working.

Job responsibilities

1. Be the consistent day-to-day designer dedicated to a squad that includes a content designer, researcher, and supporting visual designer who are shared across multiple squads.
2. Communicate and manage the day-to-day design needs of the squad, with support and leadership from the Design Lead, and be a key partner to the Product Owner.
3. Responsible for interaction and visual design deliverables from early-stage concepting to final ready-for-dev design files.
4. Ensure designs follow accessible design requirements, visual brand guidelines, and leverage the design system.
5. Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure visual design consistency.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional partners: product managers, project managers, business analysts, developers, and QA teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of product design experience, or at least 7 years in a combination of Interaction and Visual design roles.
• Experience designing within the retail/ecommerce space (Native Mobile App and responsive web).
• Proficiency with design, prototyping, and collaboration tools such as Figma, Mural, and design systems.
• Ability to articulate design strategy and the rationale behind design decisions.
• Experience with Lean UX and working in Agile development teams.
• Usability research experience.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working in the loyalty space.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, BAs, project managers, developers, and QEs within a larger organization.
• Experience creating user journeys, wireframes, and information architecture.
• Experience supporting user research, with an understanding of various research methods and their application.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is C$53.75 to C$63.75 an hour, based on factors such as education, relevant experience, certifications, and location.
