Job description

Based out of our Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location in Acheson, the Integrator Installer will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the PCR (Power Control Room) Wiring department. The Integrator Installer - Night Shift is responsible for the assembly and integration of buildings and the manufacturing processes associated with PCR Integration.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Perform integration tasks related to the installation of cabling and equipment.
  2. Perform services including, but not limited to, the installation of equipment and components, tray, raceways, cable and wire, grounding and bonding and terminations.
  3. Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects for their adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with Powell standards.
  4. Test systems, equipment and components using a variety of tools and equipment.
  5. Follow direction from Journeymen, Leads and Supervisors.
  6. Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.
  7. Ensure quality by following work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.
  8. Ensure work areas remain clean and well organized.
  9. Other duties as required.
Core Competencies
  1. Knowledge of materials and methods related to manufacturing.
  2. Knowledge of machines and tools including their design, use, repair and maintenance.
  3. Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.
  4. Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.
  5. Able to work effectively within a team and around other departments and their activities.
  6. Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum education level of a High School Diploma is required.
  2. Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Safety training certificates are an asset for the position.
  4. Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment substance abuse and medical testing upon hire.
Working Conditions
  1. Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.
  2. Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.
  3. Must be able to work from all types of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders, and all-size extension ladders).
  4. Working at heights usually no higher than 30 feet in the air on or using proper lift equipment.
  5. Working around loud machinery.
Physical Requirements
  1. Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
  2. Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.
  3. Continuous standing, walking 50-300 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.
  4. Must be able to climb stairs frequently throughout the shift.
  5. Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.
  6. Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.
  7. Ability to use hand tools such as tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition.
