Job description

We are seeking a Integrated Vegetation Management Technician to join Spectrum Resource Group (Wright Canada Holdings Ltd.) for various locations within British Columbia as integral members of our crew, gaining hands on training experience in the vegetation management industry.

This is a late spring to early fall seasonal, full-time field position with limited office work. Integrated Vegetation Management Technician is responsible for promoting awareness of invasive species and integrated vegetation management practices and collect data regularly. Crews can expect to work 10-hour days on a 10 on 4 off rotation.

This position will start late April, early May 2025.

19.50 - $25.00per hour

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

Inventory and control vegetation (native / invasive) throughout British Columbia .

Select and implement appropriate management and control practices.

Promote awareness of invasive species and integrated vegetation management practices to the public on a day-to-day basis.

Collect and interpret vegetation population data and monitor control efficacy.

Working outdoors. Work localities include highway and resource road rights-of-way, oil and gas and utility infrastructure, facilities and sub-stations.

Operation of ATV’s and pick-up trucks on a daily basis on various road conditions.

Some projects will require brush saw and chainsaw operation.

Position requires travel throughout the province.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work away from home for shifts

Ability to acquire the required provincial pesticide applicator or exterminator license

The ability and desire to collect high quality, and accurate data

Experience in vegetation management is an asset.

Any educational background in Natural Resources, Forestry or Environmental is an asset.

Strong proficiency in using a chainsaw considered an asset

Provincially relevant first aid or equivalent

Valid unrestricted driver’s License

Experience using ATVs, or other off-road vehicles is an asset.

Able to work outside and in a range of weather conditions

Physically fit to work and walk in a rough terrain area

Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.
