Job description

The Head of Retail / Lifestyle Vertical is responsible for driving commercial success within a defined industry vertical or customer segment. Reporting to the Area Head of Sales, this role leads a team of sales professionals to deliver volume, revenue, and profit targets while expanding non‑ocean logistics specifically in Contract Logistics, Ground Freight (FTL & LTL) and supply chain services. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership to build a high‑performing team and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Delivery
  • Lead the sales team to achieve budgeted targets for ocean and logistics & services (L&S) volumes & revenue.
  • Drive revenue growth and profit optimization across all product lines.
  • Expand non‑ocean logistics activities with emphasis on contract logistics, ground freight and supply chain offerings.
Customer Satisfaction
  • Monitor and improve Net Promoter Score (NPS) within the vertical/segment.
  • Act on customer feedback to enhance service delivery and satisfaction.
Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with regional and global vertical leads to share insights and feedback.
  • Provide qualified leads to Customer Acquisition (BDV) colleagues to support new customer logo growth.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Build and maintain a high-performing sales team with strong vertical expertise.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports for performance management and career development.
  • Ensure succession planning for key roles, including own position.
  • Foster team engagement and a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5‑10 years of external sales experience in transportation and logistics.
  • 3‑5 years of management experience.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of industry dynamics.
  • Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Expertise in sales strategy, process, and execution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

Pay Range: $130,000-$150,000 CAD

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
