Integrated Maintenance / Mental Health Worker
PHS Community Services Society is looking for a resourceful handyperson with diverse maintenance skills to work among frontline staff supporting marginalized people.
This position is an amalgamation of two roles, Maintenance Worker and Mental Health Worker. This is because most maintenance tasks take place in residents’ rooms and common areas, and the position involves interacting with residents. PHS Maintenance Workers are fully capable of attending to electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; both in regular maintenance and emergency repair tasks.
Staff are expected to bring a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to attending to residents’ maintenance needs in both occupied and unoccupied units. The incumbent will work as a member of the PHS Maintenance Team and will be expected to redeploy and work across the PHS continuum as directed by the PHS Senior Maintenance Manager or their designate.
This is a permanent, full-time vacancy.

Terms of employment
Schedule : Sunday to Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm (37.5 hours / week, full-time).
This is a unionized position under CUPE 5536.
