Job summary

City of Windsor is seeking an Intake Service Representative to support Employment & Social Services. You will perform general office duties, handle initial Employment Ontario applications, schedule appointments, screen inquiries, and maintain team records in a highly computerized environment.

The role requires a minimum Ontario secondary school diploma, 1+ year in customer service in social services, strong typing, and proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education Equivalency.
  • Must have over one (1) year of experience in Customer Service in a Social Services setting.
  • Must have the ability to travel to off site locations with valid Driver's Licence if required; provide driver’s abstract where needed.
  • Must have training and operating knowledge in Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • The position is sedentary in nature.

Responsibilities

  • General office duties in a highly computerized environment, including typing and processing initial Employment Ontario applications.
  • Scheduling of appointments and responding to inquiries.
  • Sorting data, inputting documents, and maintaining team records.
  • Provide caseworker assistance and employment information to clients.
  • Direct calls to staff, manage mail, and maintain files.
  • Record team statistics and prioritize intake scheduling.
  • Perform Health & Safety duties as outlined in policy.
