Job description

COMPETITION # 2025-14

POSITION: Administrative Support (Term until March 2026), Full-Time

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. Data entry, opening, closing, and processing transfers on the CFS Information System and Intake Module.
  2. Typing, editing, formatting, and transcribing reports, forms, correspondence, files, recordings, minutes, case planning notes, and other materials as assigned by the Unit Supervisor.
  3. Preparing daily and monthly Unit statistics and maintaining files in ANCR’s filing repository.
  4. Receiving, screening, assessing, transferring telephone calls, and taking messages.
  5. Providing support to other administrative staff and covering for the ANCR Receptionist as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of the impact of colonization, residential schools, and the 60’s scoop; commitment to decolonization; and knowledge to mitigate stereotypes and myths about Indigenous Peoples.
  • Grade 12 plus a certificate in a 1-year Administrative Course, or relevant experience and education.
  • At least 3 years of experience in administrative support roles.
  • Experience with reception, mail processing, and filing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with staff and the public.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Fluency in French and/or an Indigenous language is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability to a changing workplace and multitasking skills.
  • Knowledge of department programs and experience with the Intake Module / CFSIS is an asset.
  • Core competencies include communication, cultural competence, customer focus, decision-making, collaboration, organizational skills, and stress tolerance.
  • Successful criminal records check, prior contact check, and Child Abuse Registry check.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
