SCU Insurance, in partnership with Steinbach Credit Union, presently has an opening for a licensed Insurance Specialist. SCU Insurance Inc is a wealth management program offering financial planning, insurance and investments to members of credit unions and their communities.

As a self-starter you have what it takes to become highly successful and build the foundation for a successful career in financial services. Ideally, you have completed your LLQP with a minimum of 1 year of successful financial advisory experience which includes life insurance sales.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct personal interviews with Members, identify individual Member needs and goals by leveraging preferred tools, develop an appropriate plan, and make appropriate insurance recommendations
  • Provide members with insurance planning and advice. Solutions that include the sale of life, disability and critical illness insurance products among others. Investment counseling that may include (segregated funds, and annuities)
  • Share responsibility of office management duties and support senior representatives with the management of ongoing client relationships including renewal and policy maintenance to ensure seamless operations and strong client engagement
  • Create and maintain client files, reports on activities to the SCU Insurance Manager, Regional Insurance Consultant and adheres to all SCU Insurance compliance requirements
  • Promote SCU Insurance products and planning services in the broader community
  • Provide support to staff on the referral of qualified clients for insurance planning and estate solutions, subject to compliance. This will include developing relationships with front line staff that work at the Linden Ridge Branch, Lagimodiere Branch and Pembina Hwy Business Lending Centre locations
  • Stay informed with regard to the latest trends in estate planning and insurance solutions, broad knowledge of the products offered by Canadian insurance issuers, familiarity with industry competitors, current issues and strategies

Requirements :

The successful candidate will work out of our main SCU Insurance office in Winnipeg, Unit A-2100 McGillivray Blvd, Linden Ridge location and will maintain a frequent presence in our 2445 Pembina Hwy satellite office.
