Insurance Litigation Associate

Job description

Our client is expanding their downtown Toronto office and has an immediate opening for an Insurance Litigation Associate with 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in insurance defence. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a variety of insurance litigation matters, with a specific focus on bodily injury, accident benefits, subrogation, and property claims.

Your new role

In this new role you will be responsible for providing outstanding client service, managing client relationships and providing timely and effective communication. You will have the opportunity to work with the partners of the firm on a regular basis in their busy practices. You will conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motion materials, and affidavits. Attend examinations for discovery, mediations, and pre-trial conferences. Prepare for and attend hearings and trials.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 3 years’ post-call experience, be a member in good standing with the Law Society of a Canadian jurisdiction. You can work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. You also have strong teamwork skills, are trustworthy, accountable, proactive, and have a positive work attitude. Strong written skills are essential. Experience with bodily injury, accident benefits, subrogation, and property claims is preferred but not required.
