Job description

Our client, a leading Canadian law firm, is seeking an Insurance Litigation Associate with 3 to 4 years of experience in insurance defence. The successful candidate will handle a diverse range of complex insurance litigation cases and contribute to a dynamic, high-performing and busy Insurance Litigation Practice Group.

Your new role

In this role, you will deliver exceptional client service by managing relationships and ensuring clear, timely communication. You will collaborate regularly with the firm’s partners, providing support in their active and demanding practices. Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting legal research
  2. Drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motion materials, and affidavits
  3. Preparing for and attending examinations for discovery, mediations, and pre-trial conferences
  4. Representing clients at hearings and trials

What you will need to succeed

The ideal candidate will handle a diverse range of complex insurance disputes, including coverage issues and specialty defense matters. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of post-call experience and membership in good standing with a Canadian law society. The candidate must excel under pressure, effectively manage priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong teamwork abilities, accountability, proactive thinking, and a positive attitude are essential.
