As a Sales Broker at BIG Belleville, you’ll have the flexibility to work with both personal and commercial clients, tailoring coverage solutions that truly meet their needs. You’ll be at the forefront of our industry, helping individuals and businesses protect what matters most while developing lasting relationships. What does the Sales Broker do?

  1. Develop and grow a strong portfolio of clients by generating leads, leveraging referrals, and building long-term relationships.
  2. Conduct in-depth consultations to assess clients' insurance needs and recommend tailored coverage solutions.
  3. Research, compare, and negotiate policy options across multiple insurers to provide the best possible protection for clients.
  4. Guide clients through the application process and ensure policies are set up accurately and efficiently.
  5. Support clients with renewals, modifications, and inquiries to maintain high retention and satisfaction rates.
  6. Provide expert advice on policy coverage, exclusions, and risk management strategies.
  7. Maintain detailed records of client interactions and sales activities using industry-leading digital tools and CRM systems.
  8. Stay up to date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to provide informed recommendations.

  4. You have a strong understanding of insurance products (or are eager to learn) and can confidently explain coverage options to clients.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. An active and current insurance broker license for the relevant provincial regulatory body (e.g., RIBO).
  2. A high school diploma or equivalent.
  3. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a sales-focused insurance brokerage role, preferably in both Personal and Commercial Lines.
  4. Experience in lead generation, business development, or client acquisition in the insurance industry.
  5. Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory compliance.
  6. Proficiency in using policy management and CRM systems to manage client interactions and track business development efforts.

Asset:

  1. A university degree in a related field, or a college diploma in Insurance from a Canadian post-secondary institution, or equivalent.
