Looking to hire a permanent full-time Insurance Account Representative at a Desjardins Insurance office in London, Ontario. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, possess an assertive personality with consultative sales skills, have good customer relations skills, and be goal-driven.

The majority of activity in this role is directed toward the generation of new sales to existing and prospective clients. Selected candidate must be able to work collectively & independently within a small team environment. Seeking an entrepreneurial type candidate who is seeking career growth.

Job Duties :

  • Sell automobile, health, life, property, business and other types of insurance to clients.
  • Establish client insurance coverage, calculate premiums and establish method of payment.
  • Provide knowledge / information concerning insurance packages, the range of risk coverage, benefits paid and other policy features (Keep up-to-date with industry developments).
  • Ensure appropriate forms, medical examinations and other policy requirements are completed.
  • Identify and solicit potential clients (Attending leads events, x-dating, marketing strategies, etc).
  • Inbound calls and email requests including cross-selling to book of business.
  • Making product recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Some administrative duties and overall pitching in as the work presents itself.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Please note, if selected candidate is not licensed, we will work with candidate to obtain licensing.

This position is with a Desjardins independent contractor agent in Canada, not with Desjardins corporate.
