Jardeg is recruiting Ticketed Insulator Journeypersons for Suncor Firebag project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a permanent position on 14/14 rotation, 12 hours per day. These are fly in / fly out positions with camp accommodations.

Insulators apply, remove and repair thermal and acoustical insulation (calcium silicate, glass foam, mineral wool, Styrofoam, fiberglass) on all types of industrial equipment (duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, vessels).

An Insulator will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Supervise, train and coach apprentices
  • Demonstrate the installation, fitting, fabrication and attachment of insulation, finishing and weatherproofing materials to a high standard of workmanship
  • Use efficiently and safely all hand and power operated equipment used by the insulation industry
  • Read and correctly interpret blueprints, specifications and building codes
  • Thoroughly describe insulation materials and their uses
  • Describe all systems requiring insulation
  • Co-ordinate insulation work with other trades on the job site
  • Comply with all safety regulations of the construction industry
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by industry

Minimum Requirements:

  • Energy Safety Canada CSO (Common Safety Orientation)
  • Energy Safety Canada Approved Fall Protection
  • Energy Safety Canada Approved Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • Energy Safety Canada Elevated Work Platform/Ariel Work Platform
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) Training certification
  • Valid Full Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Journeyperson Ticket
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
