Job summary

Instant Insulation Ltd. in Surrey, BC is seeking an Insulator to install insulation in both commercial and residential buildings at the on-site location in Surrey. You will read blueprints and cut materials to size, fitting insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs.

The role requires 2–3 years of experience and a secondary school graduation certificate, with English proficiency and willingness to work early shifts and overtime.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required.
• Secondary school graduation certificate required.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in insulation or related field.

Responsibilities

• Select type of insulation required.
• Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools.
• Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs.
• Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials.
• Brush waterproofing cement or other material over insulating materials.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolding, rigging and hoisting equipment.
• Remove asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead and mould and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
