Job summary

Trans Mountain Corporation seeks a skilled Instrumentation Technician for Valemount, BC. This full-time role supports instrumentation calibration, control systems, and safety-critical maintenance across pipeline and terminal assets.

Reports to the Operations Supervisor in the North Thompson District and follows a Monday–Friday schedule with every second Friday off. The position emphasizes collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, and other technical groups to ensure safe, reliable operations

Qualifications

Journeyman Instrumentation Technician (Red Seal) is required.
Minimum 3-5 years of industrial experience.
Experience with process control and hydro testing is an asset.
Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code requirements is an asset.
Commissioning and start-up experience is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft D365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
A track record of delivering high-quality work and managing priorities.

Responsibilities

Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain process instrumentation and control equipment.
Update as-built documentation and schematics.
Support programming and troubleshooting of Local Operator Interfaces and PLCs, with Rockwell PLC and HMI software.
Provide instrumentation support and maintain system reliability.
Analyze SCADA, HMI displays, and P&ID drawings to ensure safe operations.
Support Emergency Response initiatives and training.
Provide operational support to ensure throughput and reliability.
Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams.
Provide contractor oversight and performance monitoring.
